I'm glad you're back mom

My mom was gone all of last week. It was just Dad and I (and the dogs and miss kitty.) One night I got home and Dad was making dinner. He said he'd even put it on the "party plates" to make it special.

Bon Appetit!

I like the party plates! This reminds me of when mom would come home from the hospital after having a new baby and Dad would try and cook for us for a few days. You never know what he's going to come up with. It might be simple but it always tasted good!

Haha! I thought Dad made you toast. That's really cute of Dad to try and make dinner more fun. Maybe having so many daughters rubbed off on him!

Let me just clear something up - there is no way he chose those dishes to be "fun." They were either a) the only clean dishes left or b) the easiest dishes to wash. Trust me on this one... :)

Literally LOLing!!!!
I thought this was toast too, but grilled cheese reminds me of when Brent and I first got married. He told me he was going to make dinner and we had grilled cheese sandwiches. I told him this was not dinner, this was "grilled-cheese", it's fine, but don't tell me it's dinner when it's just grilled cheese. I told another recently married girl in one of my classes and before I could finish the story she said, "Let me guess.... grilled cheese sandwiches!"
I agree with Keith on the dish choice, although I think it's cute.

Keith and LaDawn you are wrong. He even said as he got the plates out, from the bottom of the stack of plates, "we're even going to eat on party plates." And btw, did you guys notice the silverware that he put out?! Who uses silverware to eat a grilled cheese?! not me. :) It was very sweet of him.
