In an effort to be more bold

I have vowed to myself that I will buy no more black or white, or anything blah for a while. I have enough blah and I need to add more color... this is something that is difficult for me.

Today Dustin and I were shopping and I told him about my no blah vow to myself. While we were in Sephora (poor guy has no sisters and I think at first he was a bit overwhelmed by such a girly store) I decided that I needed to pick out a new nail polish color. I said, "I think Steph would be proud of me if I did pink" I picked up one and said I liked it. Dustin liked it because that name of it was "Arm Candy" However we both ended up deciding that it was a bit too neon. So I went with a slightly different, but still very bright pink, that was more fittingly named "It's all about me." :)

Sunshine and a waterballoon toss

I'm lovin' the sunshine!!
This afternoon Blake, Mickayla, Dustin and I went out and had a nice game of waterballon toss while we enjoyed the sunshine.

Olympic Game Farm

Yesterday, Memorial Day, we decided to take advantage of the day off work and go out to Olympic Game park in Sequim. Dustin, Jesse, Will and I make the trek out there. It took us about 3.5 hours and 2 Ferry rides to get there.

It was the most insane experience. You drive through the park and the animals come right up to your car (or kinda into your car) and you feed them bread. I don't know if that it's all that healthy for them to get that much bread, but that was the only food allowed.
The animals had NO fear of us. Although it took us a bit to not have fear of them. :)

The bears seemed really friendly. But I was still glad they were on the other side of an electric fence. They would wave to us and were really good at catching the bread out of the air. We'd throw it like a frisbee and they'd catch it with their mouth.
Will thought it was all pretty cool.
The Buffalo were the most intimidating. Maybe because just their snout took up the whole window. And they had the most awful breath ever!

This shows you how huge the buffalo were. They were nice though. It's not like they were going to push over any of the cars. Apparently they just really like bread. ha ha.
There was also a petting farm there.
Will loved this chicken. I've never seen a bird so ok with people touching it. It didn't even twitch when we'd touch it. Will was practically hugging it at one point.
We had an awesome time at the game park. Unfortunately though the ride home was not so awesome. We went back to get on the first of 2 ferries and there was a 2 hour wait, and they told us there was already a 5 hour wait for the next ferry we'd need. So we decided it'd be faster to drive all the way around. UGH! Will watched a movie (luckily I had brought a little DVD player for him.) And Jesse and I played the alphabet game. We also stopped at A&W for root beer floats. It was a long day, but the park was awesome!

Sailing with Strangers

A few months ago I decided that my life was boring and that I needed to expand my horizons and get out and do more. In my quest to find adventure I went on the "activities" page of Craigslist.com. I saw a lot of interesting activity invites that I was not not actually interested in participating in. But there was one that sounded appealing. A guy who was a member of the Shilshole Marina sailing club who was looking for people who were interested in going sailing. My brother-in-law has been a member of various sailing clubs for years so I was familiar with the idea. This guy, Todd, mentioned that it took a few people to sail the size of boats that he takes out and so he was looking for a list of people who he could contact when he had a sailing trip coming up. I e-mailed him my info and told him to add me to the list. The first few trips that he had didn't fit my schedule so I didn't go. But I decided to go along on a sailing day this last Saturday. There were 4 of us on the boat, and none of us knew eachother. At first I felt like "what in the world am I doing here?!" but once we got comfortable with eachother and started talking a bit more it was a good time. Here are some pictures of the things we saw.
I was jealous of these Sea Lions. Not only is it completely acceptable for them to be fat, but they get to lay around in the sun all day. Sounds good to me!

We circled around them a few times. We really were this close to them. No zoom used! Cool huh? After this second picture they started barking at us... maybe we were blocking their sun. :)

This picture is of Bill, Krista and I. The sailing tagalongs.

It was a beautiful day to be out on the water!

Sad face

The other night Will was not happy that it was bedtime. He kept making a funny face and I asked him "what's the face for?" he said, "I'm sad" I told him it didn't look like a sad face and that he should look in the mirror. He practiced in the mirror for a while and then tried again.
Here's what it looked like

Are you convinced? .... I'm not

Happy Birthday Blake

Monday was Blake's 19th birthday!

He loved the watch that Ann, LaDawn and I gave him. You can almost here him say "ooooh"

He also loved the photo album that Candice put together for him to take with him on his mission.
Mom and Dad spoiled him with all sorts of gifts and a delicious dinner (which Blake helped to prepare by cooking some yummy burgers.)

Mom made the most delicious cream pie but forgot to get candles. So we got creative in order to put 19 candles on his pie. We found a number 5 candle, and 13 normal candles but were still 1 candle short. So we put a tea light candle on as well. :)
